I want to help other nurses facing the same situation I had to face. I was blindsided by the board and the district attorney who pretended to have my best interest at heart. I want to help nurses that have been in my shoes prevent being in my shoes to begin with. Nursing schools do not show you or teach you what to do in the event of any kind of possible reprimand against your license. They show you what happens when a complaint is filed but do not show you what to do after. I believe that education with nursing students will not only help them if any situation were to arise, but will help decrease incidences of license revocation or denial. I would like to help in any way I can, I have been dealing with issues with the board since 2016 for a DUI in 2012. I wish someone would have informed me of the many repercussions when I surrendered my nursing license. Thanks to Nicole Valentine I was removed from the exclusion list (Medi-cal) and am able to work in the state of California. I have been licensed since 2003 as an LVN. I worked really hard to get my license initially and to get it back. Nursing has been my passion and career since I was 17 years old and I have seen unfair treatment of wonderful nurses all because they were not well informed. I have considered obtaining a law degree just for that sole purpose. If there is any way I can help in Southern California, I am more than happy to help.
