Hi Jennifer,
I am not sure if you are the person I spoke with initially when I reached out to RN guardian. Mr. Ian Woo became my attorney, and I received an outcome that honestly no one has even heard of! Seven years ago, I got two DUIs and entered the BRN diversion program. At two years in the program, my mom was diagnosed with a terminal illness and was put on hospice. I voluntarily with Drew from the diversion program, in good status with an active and unrestricted license. The BRN told me they would reach out to me, and let me know when I could discuss entering probation, if at all. Diversion is off the table if you leave.
3.5 years had passed and they finally reached out to me this year. I had been working as , an executive in Healthcare for the last 3.5 years. I was terrified when I called you knowing I had to start the process all over again, lose my job and endure the horrific probation program
I started working with Mr. Woo, he was polite, kind, reassuring, and professional. He helped me get together a list of mitigating evidence and submitted that on my behalf to the district attorney. He told me he would be seeking a letter of public reprimand. I thought this was crazy as they had already put me in one of their programs previously. It was the MOST stressful 2 months waiting for a reply. I couldn’t believe it, the BRN accepted the district attorneys stipulation agreement. I received a public letter of reprimand! This means, that not only do I NOT have to enter back into one of their programs, this will be removed, totally from my license in three years. When Mr. Woo called, I burst into tears of joy! He sincerely changed my life forever. He saved me time, mental health, exhaustion, and financial resources by helping me get this outcome. In addition, in three years, this will all be behind me, and I will never have to revisit this nightmare again.
He is my HERO.
I do believe I spoke to you, and you were also equally as kind. I don’t know if you remember me, but I will never forget you. Thank you for all you, Mr. Woo and the firm have done for me. Please let me know if I can write a review, give a testimonial or other. I did let all of the nurses in the Riverside program know about your firm and my outcome. I shared your contact information and will continue to do so.
Thank you for fighting for us nurses!

I first wrote a review for Nicole Valentine on AVVO on May 24, 2024, after she delivered life-changing news that lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. I had been falsely accused, and thanks to Nicole and her incredible assistant Vanessa Fernandez, I was removed from the Medi-Cal exclusion list, something I never thought would happen. They fought hard for me and made me feel safe during one of the scariest times of my life.
Now in 2025, I’m in another case and being blamed again for something I did not do— then being wrongfully terminated to silence me from a hospital that was unsafe. I didn’t hesitate to retain Nicole again. I texted her and within minutes, she responded. That message alone calmed my anxiety. Nicole always makes me feel seen and supported, even when everything around me is falling apart.
I had the privilege of meeting Nicole in person on March 19, 2025. The BRN wouldn’t do a Zoom call, so she showed up in person. She spoke to me for over an hour beforehand, not just prepping me, but giving me full transparency. Nicole doesn’t sugarcoat, but she gives you hope. She’s the kind of attorney who truly understands what’s at stake, especially for someone like me, a single mom of 4 going through a custody battle and financial hardship. I’ve tapped out my savings, my emergency fund, my 401K, everything. And still, I would hire her again (lets hope that I would not need to) and again because she’s worth it all (I would just have to figure out how to get the money to hire her).
Nicole may not answer every text or email immediately, but that’s because she’s in court, in hearings, in battle, literally fighting for people like me. That’s what makes her rare. And when she can’t get back to you right away, Vanessa is always there. She’s warm, responsive, and helps you breathe when you’re panicking.
Nicole called me recently with an update, and I was barely holding it together. She said something I’ll never forget: “No, don’t be like that. You’re going to be okay.” And I believed her. I cried after we hung up because I finally felt protected and not alone. I’m seeing a therapist. I’m on medication. I’m trying to stay strong. But this fight is terrifying. I didn’t harm anyone. I didn’t kill anyone. I didn’t deserve this. And Nicole knows that. My hearing is in January 2026, and I don’t know what will happen, but I’m holding on to my faith in God and my faith in Nicole.
Nicole and Vanessa, thank you for standing by me, for believing in me, for fighting for me. I pray for you both every single day. You are saving lives, not just careers, but actual lives. If you’re reading this and you’re scared about your license, please do what I did. Retain Nicole Valentine. She will not let you go through it alone. Nicole and Vanessa— Thank you so much! The fight is not over… yet— But I am safe with you.

I’m not the one directly going through the legal process, but I’ve been standing by someone I love who’s been facing one of the most difficult times in her life. Watching her navigate this situation has been painful, but one thing that’s given her hope and stability is having Nicole Valentine as her attorney.
Even from the outside looking in, it’s clear that Nicole is not just a lawyer, she’s someone who truly fights for her clients. She’s responsive, honest, and incredibly knowledgeable. You can feel the shift in energy every time my girlfriend hears from Nicole, it’s like she can finally breathe after having an anxiety attack. That says a lot.
If I ever get in trouble with the BRN, which I pray never happens, I will hire Nicole instantly without hesitation. I’ve seen firsthand what she can do. I’ve seen how she helped my partner, and I am a true witness of Nicole’s capability, power, and commitment to her clients. She is the real deal.
Highly recommend!

I thought my license was lost . My life’s work ( over 25 years ) was toast. Everything i had worked for was gone because of a terrible mistake. I made a big mistake. In the heat of an unprecedented moment of stress, I drove really, really drunk, and crashed my car which caused a minor accident. I had over a 2.0 BAL. Nicole Valentine helped me put together a packet that summarized my life’s work. Therefore, the acupuncture board will not press any charges, or discipline me. I believe this is because Nicole Valentine went above and beyond, out of her way to present my unique case to my licensing board. I will be forever grateful to her. I actually asked her if I could pay her more. When was the last time you asked an attorney for that privilege? She and her team will do what it takes to protect you. I can't recommend her enough.

Nicole and her staff are amazing. From day one she was very attentive and very thorough in her explanation of what I needed to and how to get it done. Anytime I had a question, she was very responsive. She fought hard for me and got the best results for me. I would recommend her to anyone having trouble with the BRN

If your nursing license is in jeopardy and you are dealing with the BRN - call Nicole Valentine! She is simply “THE BEST.” Nicole handled my case with professionalism and achieved an outstanding result. She took time to listen to me, asked probing questions, and read hundreds of pages of documents to understand my case before giving me her professional opinion. She was honest in her assessment, and was straightforward in what she could do for me. She showed that she cared not only about my case but about me as an individual, a rare quality when it comes to attorneys. As nurses, we care and protect the ill and Nicole Valentine is there to protect us when we are falsely accused because of hospital politics. I highly recommend Nicole Valentine when dealing with BRN. Thank you Nicole Valentine for being my Guardian Angel…

I can't recommend Ian Woo highly enough. I hired him to help with a very stressful situation: being listed on the Medi-Cal exclusion list due to an old, license-related technicality. I had heard horror stories about how long it could take to get removed — sometimes over a year — but Ian was able to get my name successfully removed in just 10 days. He was incredibly efficient, knowledgeable, and easy to work with from the start. He took the time to understand my situation, explained the process clearly, and answered all of my questions. Communication was excellent — he was friendly, responsive, and always got back to me quickly. If you're a healthcare professional dealing with licensing issues or exclusion matters, Ian is exactly the kind of lawyer you want on your side. I'm so grateful for his help and can say with confidence that working with him made all the difference in resolving my case so quickly and successfully.

Nicole was amazing! I recently had an accusation against me with the Board of Nursing for my LVN license and Nicole was my attorney for the whole process. She was able to break down step by step on what to do and was able to help guide me the whole way. I ended up winning my case with no penalties/actions against my nursing license! I highly recommend her!

Where do I begin. Mr. Ian Woo met me at my place of dire need. It is very intimidating, trying to defend yourself against any board of nursing. Attorney Woo took the time to gather the facts concerning my case and was successful in guiding me through this nightmare of an ordeal. His expertise helped me obtain a favorable result therefore preserving my integrity and career. God forbid, mistakes happen, but if you need expert legal counsel, I highly recommend this Law firm, in particular Attorney Ian Woo. Now, I can move forward in my professional healthcare career, putting the mistake behind and hold my head in confidence. Thank GOD for Attorney Woo!!

Ian is an amazing attorney- he is transparent, caring, and prompt. I was placed on the Medi-Cal exclusion list after surrendering my CA nursing license, and Attorney Woo helped me get reinstated for a low fee. He kept me updated along the way and provided me with advice and encouragement. I highly recommend him!
